The Muse Sings: An Event of Music and Verse

The Muse Sings: An Event of Music and Verse

On the occasion of World Poetry Day (March 21), an event of music and verse, featuring poetry set to music by Manos Hadjidakis, will be presented on Thursday March 22 at 19:30 at the Hellenic American Union Theater (Massalias 22, Athens).

Music and poetry unite to highlight the poetics of melody and the musicality of verses at an event with Manos Hadjidakis’ compositions and poems by Nikos Gatsos, Odysseas Elytis and others.

Students of the Bachelor of Music Program (BM) of Hellenic American College (HAEC) and Philippos Nakas Conservatory perform songs by Manos Hadjidakis under the direction of Elli Paspala. During interludes, students of the Bachelor of Arts in English Language & Literature Program of HAEC read Greek poems set to music, translated by themselves.

The event is organized by the Bachelor of Music (BM) program offered by Hellenic American College (HAEC) in cooperation with Hellenic American University (Nashua, NH, USA) and the Philippos Nakas Conservatory.

Admission is free.
