The Athens Mixed Municipal Choir will perform a concert of festive music for Carnival entitled Il Festino at the Hellenic American Union Theatre, 22 Massalias Street, Athens, on February 7, 2018 at 20:00.
The event has been organized by Hellenic American College in cooperation with the Hellenic American University (Nashua, NH, USA) Bachelor of Music Program and the City of Athens Culture, Sports and Youth Organization (OPANDA).
During this musical evening, the singers and musicians will take the audience on a festive trip from the Renaissance to modern times through works by Italian composer Giovanni Giacomo Gastoldi (1554–1609), Italian poet and composer Adriano Banchieri (1568–1634), Italian composer Gioachino Antonio Rossini (1792–1868) and Prussian composer and playwright Franz Friedrich Richard Genée (1823–1895), as well as traditional South American songs.
