On Friday May 25th, at 19:30, the 4th Annual Alexis Dimaras Lecture of the Greek Society of Education Historians (GSEH) featuring Professor Simonetta Polenghi as guest of honor will take place at the Hellenic American Union Theater, 22 Massalias Street, Athens, 2nd floor.

Dr. Simonetta PolenghiSimonetta Polenghi is Professor of History of Education and Head of the Department of Education at Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milan. She is also President of the Italian Society of Pedagogy and member of the Executive Committee of the International Standing Conference for History of Education. In her lecture, entitled “Internationalization and Evaluation Policies: Research Approaches in Italian History of Education”, Simonetta Polenghi will discuss the ways in which Italian research in the History of Education has changed over the past 25 years, shifting from the history of educational ideas and of school education to areas involving the use of new archives and sources and the adoption of interdisciplinary approaches. Professor Polenghi attempts to link the scientific results to internationalization and official evaluation policies.

The Greek Society of Education Historians (GSEH) was founded in 2001 and has already 210 members throughout Greece, mainly faculty members at Greek universities and researchers. The lecture is being organized by Hellenic American College/Hellenic American University in cooperation with Hellenic American Union and the Greek Society of Education Historians.

The lecture will be delivered in English with simultaneous translation into Greek.
