The Distance Learning Program enables you to study translation without having to attend lessons in a classroom. The program meets the same learning outcomes as the Two-Year Program in General-Specialized Translation and prepares students for the examinations for Diploma in Translation (IOL), the Chartered Institute of Linguists, London.
The degree of difficulty and the content of the texts are selected in accordance with your own level. During the studies particular emphasis is placed on both theoretical and practical training.
The program runs throughout the year to accommodate all students’ schedules. Upon registration, students are granted access to Blackboard, an e-learning platform, where supporting material (theory, practical tips, translation assessment examples) is uploaded. Communication with the program's coordinators and instructors is conducted mainly via email, telephone and conference call upon request.
During your studies, you are assigned texts to be translated as well as assignments at a professional level, so that your progress in terms of theory, practical application and research can be evaluated. Upon the completion of the 1st and 2nd year you are required to take the final examinations.
